Hardcover 1/4 leather over illustrated cloth over boards with slipcase. 8vo. Pagination: Iliad lxxxv, 595; Odyssey lxxxviii, 493 pp. Illustrated in full colour by Grahame Baker: 8 plates in Iliad, and 9 plates in Odyssey. Cover designs also by Baker. Additionally each volume has three b/w maps. Gilt titles on the spines with gilt rulings on the boards. Both topstained (Iliad red, Odyssey yellow). Decorative map endpapers. Previous owner's bookplate on the half-title page of The Iliad only. Pages are bright and clean. The Iliad has some small brown marks on the fore edge of the text block and some small blue ink marks on the foot. Spine and boards are lightly rubbed but otherwise unmarked. Both slipcases show rubbing/shelf wear. Very good. Item #67774
