Glue residue from removed bookplate on front flyleaf. Previous owner's bookplate on front prelims. Pages clean and bright. Binding strong and square. Spine and boards unblemished. Card slipcase lightly shelf worn with a small white mark on the front. A very good copy overall. 

Purgatorio

Folio. xvi, 154 pp. Illustrated with 34 full colour plate reproductions of  watercolour paintings by Salvador Dali commissioned in 1951 by the Italian government for a seven hundredth anniversary edition of the Divine Comedy.  Text taken from the 1844 edition of Cary's "The Vision; or Hell, Purgatory, and Paradise of Dante Alighieri." 2008 second printing. Title, author, illustrator, and printer's device stamped in gilt on spine. Blue topstain. Decorative blue endpapers. Glue residue on the front flyleaf from removed bookplate. Pages clean and bright.
