Pagination: volume one -- [2], ii, 3-80 pp; volume two -- 76 pp; volume three -- 100, [4] pp. Illustration: volume one -- b/w engraved title page, 36 b/w engraved plates; volume two -- 36 b/w engraved plates; volume three -- one b/w engraved map, 45 b/w engraved plates. Volume three missing map of Asia Minor. Rebound using material from previous binding. Six compartment spine with five raised ribs. Black leather label with gilt title pasted into compartment two. Gilt decoration on the spine, and three gilt rules on the front and back boards. Edges darkened. Marbled endpapers. Light age toning and foxing throughout. Tear in bottom corner of pages 47 - 50 of volume one. Text block has the occasional small finger mark, and some chipped pages. Binding is strong and square. Spine and boards are worn, rubbed, and bumped. Overall condition is fair approaching good due to the missing map. Fair. Item #67418
