Hardcover cloth (green) over boards with d/j and slipcase. 4to. xxii+284+[7 fold-out maps] pp. Illustrated with 81 b/w plate photographs (aerial and landscape), geological diagrams, and maps, including 7 fold-out maps, with four, full colour, large-scale, loose maps. Title stamped in gilt on spine. Illustration of rolling hills stamped in gilt on front board. Text block is clean, slightly browned, and square with a strong binding. Boards and spine show very minor shelfwear to the edges, but are otherwise pristine. Dustjacket (green illustrated) is worn and creased, with chipping along the head and fore edge. An enclosed tear travels from the head of the spine down along the front hinge about a third of the book's length and then moves onto the front. Wrapped in protective mylar sleeve. The four maps are in excellent condition, with the title of each added in graphite. The slipcase (green faux leather) is strong and square, but is worn, rubbed, has chipped corners, and has a semi-circular stain on the back board, Very good. / Fair. Item #67131
