Hardcover 3/4 leather (turquoise) over paper (marbled) over boards with slipcase. 8vo. Vol. I: i-lvii, 58-447 pp; vol II: i-viii, 9-468 pp; vol III: i-x, 11-480 pp. Each volume contains a different b/w engraved frontispiece with tissue guard: 1) Fanny Burney, 2) George III, Queen Charlotte, & Their Family, 3) General d'Arblay. Bound by Sangorski & Sutcliffe of London. All three volumes have 6 compartment spines (5 ribs) with the second and third compartment having red leather labels displaying the title and volume in gilt. The other four compartments are heavily decorated in gilt floral patterns. All three spines have darkened slightly from their vibrant turquoise to a more muted green. Volume II has what looks like water damage to the lower back hinge, and the gilt on the spine in the lower compartment has been partially rubbed off. Otherwise all the volumes are clean, unmarked, and square with a strong binding. The slipcase (marbled paper over card) has darkened on the top and one side, with general wear to the edges and corner. Good. Item #67115
