Folio. 362 pp. Illustrated with 1190 b/w plate photographs of bonsai trees and suiseki (display stones) with additional b/w and full colour photo-collages of the opening and closing of the exhibition. Created to coincide with a special exhibition at Japan World Exposition (Osaka) 1970 that ran from March 15 to September 13, 1970. Japanese text. Title gilt stamped on front board and spine. Small brown droplet stain on pages 1-4. Beyond that the book is clean, unmarked and square with a strong binding. The dustjacket (photographic) has a chip missing from the bottom of the spine, small enclosed tears and cracks along the hinges, chipping at all corners, and wear along the head. The slipcase (cloth over card) is a little faded with age and sunned along the head. Title stamped in gilt on the front. Slipcase is whole, square, and strong. Very good. / Fair. Item #67109
