Tour Through Holland, Along the Right and Left Banks of the Rhine, to the South of Germany, in the Summer and Autumn of 1806.
Printed in the UK. Richard Phillips. 1807. First edition. Leather over boards. Hardcover full leather over boards. 4to. xvi + 468 pp. Illustrated with 20 monotone aquatints, and one b/w engraved map. Rebound with new spine, boards, and marbled endpapers, preserving the leather label with gilt title on the spine. Text block is foxed (predominately on the first and last few pages), slightly browned, and shows occasional blue underlining marks. Edges have darkened. Hole in the front flyleaf (appears that someone tried to erase an owner's inscription). Some bleed from the aquatints on to the facing pages. Boards are clean, but there is shelfwear to the foot, a crease on the front hinge, and the corners are chipped. The binding is strong, but the first two leaves after the flyleaf show cracking in the gutter. Overall a bright and charming copy. Very good. Item #67025
