Hardcover original cloth (brown) over boards. 8vo. 288 pp. Illustrated with a single b/w folding map after the index titled "Skeleton Map of Rail Roads Between Cape Canso and St. Louis." Beautiful original Benjamin Bradley binding. Gilt emblem of the city of Boston stamped on front and back covers. Extensive blind tooling on the covers and spine typical of Bradley bindings. Half title gilt stamped on spine. Text block shows very slight foxing, mostly along the fore edge, but the pages are bright, clean, and unmarked. The binding is strong and square. Covers are a little worn at the corners, and at the top and bottom of the spine. Small bump in the middle of the fore edge of the back board, and on its bottom corner. Overall a very handsome copy.
