An enclosed letter, dated Dec 8, 1944, addressed "to whom it may concern" explains that this volume is an author's edition given by the author to his brother-in-law, E. Cory Clench. Then it was passed on to his sister, Fanny Lowe & on her death to her son F.H.H. Lowe, and then to Mrs M. Willet (nee Kane), a granddaughter of the author.The letter is signed by F.H.H. Lowe.
