Catalogue of the Inaugural Exhibtion, January 29th to February 28, Nineteen Hundred and Twenty-Six
Toronto: Art Gallery of Toronto, 1926. Hardcover. Hardcover. Half-cloth & boards. 71 pp. Illustrated with b/w plates. Spotting to boards, but Near Fine else. Some of the paintings depicted were lent by dealers such as Joseph Duveen and Durand-Ruel, who, one supposes, sniffed a market opportunity in the opening of a new public gallery. Evidently they were disappointed, because we have not seen the canvases in the permanent collection of the present-day AGO. But then, Torontonians never did like spending much money on art.
