Paris: Librairie Geographique De Aug. Grosselin, 1850. Unbound. Map of Africa from "Atlas de Geographie Ancienne, du Moyen Age, et Moderne" (Paris, 1850). The map measures approx. 13" x 18" inches, including margins, and has a centrefold. Details are hand-coloured. Inset map of the Middle East takes up about one-third of the sheet. Originally made by Delamarche in 1843, the map was part of the compilation for the Atlas of 1850. Tiny chip at foot of centrefold and closed edge-tear to lower margin, neither affecting map; closed tear at head of centrefold, slightly affecting map, has been mended with archivist's (invisible) tape on verso. Delamarche was a famous 19th century French cartographer and naval engineer. Text in French. Very Good. Item #26731
