Salmon-Fishing in Canada. By a Resident. Edited By Colonel Sir James Edward Alexander
London: Longman, Green, Longman and Roberts, 1860. Hardcover. Hardcover. Rebound in deep blue cloth with spine lettering gilt and s[pine ruled in gilt; new endpapers. xiv, 350 pp. + 24 pp. catalogue. Illustrated with 2 engraved plates; map; engraved title-page vignette; line drawings in text; engraved tailpieces, and initial letter vignettes at head of each chapter. The vignettes and most of the tailpieces are quite drole fishing cartoons. Ink annotations (in what looks like a contemporary hand) to prelims & rear matter (mostly on blank pages), and occasional ink annotation on lower margins and the end of chapters; otherwise, interior shows only few of the usual marginal stains in a book of this age; a nice tight copy. Rare! Very Good. Item #26414
