Michael Snow / A Survey.

Printed in Canada. Art Gallery of Ontario. 1970. First limited edition. Paper over boards. Hardcover paper (photographic) over boards with slipcase. Square 8vo. 128 pp. Profusely illustrated with b/w plate photographs of Snow's life and work. Designed by Snow with text from Robert Fulford, Dennis Young, Richard Foreman, and P. Adams Sitney. Part of a special limited 125 copy print run with 10 artist's proofs. Each copy is signed and numbered by the artist and consists of: a clear plastic case, a fresnel magnifying sheet, a book mark, 3 original Walking Women stickers (1965), and a signed print (9 folding cells). This copy is unnumbered and, while it is signed and dated by Snow on the front flyleaf, it is dated July 18, 2012. The print is correct, but unsigned. This copy may possibly be one of the 10 artist's proofs. Missing 2 of the Walking Women stickers. Contains the infamous bookmark displaying Snow's and his wife's genitalia. Published to accompany a show of the same title that took place at the Art Gallery of Ontario from February 14 - March 15, 1970. CONDTION: Text block edges slightly age yellowed but otherwise clean, unmarked, bright, and square with a strong binding. The boards and spine show the same slight yellowing and a bit of shelfwear, but are otherwise in fine condition. The slipcase (clear printed-on plastic) has some sticker residue, rubbing marks, and the back bottom edge has come partially unglued. Overall handsome copy that would be at home in any art book collection or for a Michael Snow fan.
